Cookie policy
Last updated: October 2026
We use cookies and local storage to make the website work and to remember your choices. Here we explain what is stored and what choices you have.
Read the privacy policy1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. Cookies are used to make the website work properly and to improve your user experience. Similar information can also be stored in the browser's local storage (localStorage).
Cookies can be “temporary” (session cookies), which are deleted when you close your browser, or “persistent” cookies, which remain on your device until they are removed or expire.
2. How we use cookies
At Gökaskratts Camping, we use cookies and local storage for the following purposes:
2.1 Necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function. They are needed for you to navigate the website and use basic features such as booking accommodation.
Examples: Cookies and local storage set by the booking system during an ongoing booking, and the storage of your cookie consent.
2.2 Functional cookies
These cookies allow the website to remember your choices and settings (e.g. language) to give you a better and more personal experience.
Examples: Your language choice (preferred-language) — only saved if you have accepted functional cookies.
2.3 Statistics cookies (analytics)
These cookies help us understand how the website is used by collecting statistics, e.g. which pages are visited the most. They are only set if you have consented to analytics cookies in the cookie banner.
Examples: Google Analytics 4 cookies (_ga and _ga_<id>) — only set if you have accepted statistics.
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are placed by third-party services that we use on our website:
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the website is used, e.g. which pages are visited the most. The provider is Google Ireland Ltd. The tool is only loaded once you have accepted statistics in the cookie banner — if you decline, it is not loaded at all. Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<id>, which distinguish visitors and keep a visit together. They are stored for up to 2 years. The data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We have switched off Google signals and ad personalisation.
Google Translate & Google Maps
In the booking flow, Google Translate (which translates the booking system when you have selected a language other than Swedish) and Google Maps (which displays maps) are loaded. These are third-party scripts from Google. Google Translate is controlled by the googtrans cookie, which is set on our domain when you visit the booking page with a language other than Swedish selected.
Booking system (Paxess)
Our booking system from Paxess may set session cookies on our domain and stores details about your ongoing booking in the browser's local storage (e.g. cart and booking references).
Social media
If you share content from our website on social media, or if you have profiles on these platforms, the social media platform in question may place cookies on your device.
Statistics cookies are only used with your consent. We do not use any marketing cookies — if any are introduced, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
4. Consent and your choices
When you visit our website for the first time, a cookie banner appears where you can choose “Accept” or “Decline” — both choices are equally easy. Under “Let me choose” there are three categories: Necessary, Functional and Statistics. Nothing is pre-selected.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page, or with the button below. If you later decline statistics, we stop measuring immediately and remove the Google Analytics cookies. If we change how we use cookies, we will ask you again.
4.1 How to manage cookies
You can manage cookies in the following ways:
- Cookie banner: Accept, decline or choose categories on your first visit
- “Cookie settings” in the footer and the button here: Reopens the settings so you can change your choice
- Browser settings: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings
Please note: If you block all cookies, some parts of the website may stop working properly, including the booking function.
